Maui, Hawaii – The “Standard” boardshorts are a tactical garment, meticulously engineered to optimize your beach experience. Plastic from all over the world is collected, shredded, washed, melted, extruded, spun into thread, woven into fabric, and sewn into boardshorts. INFINITY 808 has three core values which guide everything we do: 1=Art, 2=Doing Better, and 3=Community.
The first thing you notice about INFINITY 808 is the symbol (icon), shaped like the Island of Maui, connected by fifty one triangles. 50 because Hawaii is the 50th state; with the first, last, and center triangle representing you, because we need your help to do something positive for the environment! Single use plastic is choking the planet, and reusing the durable material is a great way to do something about it! Humans produce more than 300 million tons of plastic every year, including billions of plastic bottles (United Nations).
The recycled plastic material is comfortable, durable, lightweight and stretchy; and the boardshorts dry almost instantly. Designs range from simple solid colors to photographic landscapes, island style graphics, and artist collaborations. Every pair of sustainable surf shorts is a limited edition; beachwear that is truly unique and special, just like the place it comes from (Maui, Hawaii).
INFINITY 808 is the Maui-based surf company; specializing in sustainability and the creation of boardshorts made from recycled plastic. Men, Women, and Keiki interested in swim trunks, plastic recycling, and/or collabs are highly encouraged to connect via the website infinity808.com on social media @infinity808x or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
